Full Time Police Officers
When employment opportunities arise … The Hull Police Department hires Full Time Police Officers off the Massachusetts State Civil Service List , which is given every two years. In order to take this test, you need to be at least 21 years of age, have a valid drivers license and you need to be a United States citizen. The results of this test are released to Police Departments who request this list for hire. Please check with Department of Personnel Administration for the current testing schedule.

This department takes transfers from other Police Departments. As long as the new transfer meets the standards of the Massachusetts State Civil Service List. The Chief of Police and Town Government approve all appointments.
Current Lateral Transfer Job Opportunity
The Town of Hull is seeking highly motivated, experienced police officers for a lateral transfer to our department. The Hull Police Department is a progressive, community focused department consisting of (30) highly dedicated full-time police officers.
Only permanent civil service police officers from Massachusetts are eligible for transfer under the provisions of Chapter 31, Section 35 of the Massachusetts General Laws. Applicants must have satisfactorily completed a prescribed course of study approved by the Municipal Police Training Committee.

Community Service Officer
The Hull Police Department is accepting applications for community service officers. Duties include, but are not limited to parking enforcement, answering phones, permit sales, citations processing, and interpersonal customer service. This is a part-time position (4) to (8) hour work days, including 4th of July and Labor Day. The schedule may be adjusted for inclement weather. The position pays $17.00 per hour, detail work $57.18 per hour, a uniform will be provided. Applicants must be 18 years or older, and have a high school degree or GED.
