HULL — Chief John Dunn reports that the Hull Police Department arrested a man on an open and gross lewdness charge Tuesday following an investigation.

FILIP CERNY, AGE 39, of HULL, was arrested Tuesday and charged with:

  • Open and Gross Lewdness
  • Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Unsafe Operation of a Motor Vehicle

On Monday, May 26, at approximately 4:08 p.m., Hull Police responded to George Washington Boulevard for a report of a driver performing a lewd act while alongside another car. Officers responded to the area, but did not locate the vehicle.

Through an investigation on Tuesday, May 27, Hull Police identified the suspect as CERNY.

The preliminary investigation confirmed that CERNY was performing a lewd act while driving unsafely to maintain eye contact with passengers in a car in the next lane.

CERNY was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday and booked at the Hull Police Department.

CERNY was arraigned on Tuesday in Hingham District Court and released on personal recognizance, with the condition that he stay away from and have no contact with any victims and witnesses.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
