Hull Police Investigating Several Acts of Vandalism to Businesses, Vehicles
Five Businesses, Seven Vehicles Damaged
HULL — Chief John Dunn reports that the Hull Police Department is seeking to identify a man who broke several windows and vandalized vehicles in town over the weekend.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall. He has a medium build with facial hair and glasses. The suspect may have suffered a hand injury.
The acts of vandalism occurred late Saturday night and after midnight on Sunday in the area of the Kenberma shopping district, Nantasket Avenue, Newport Road and Touraine Avenue.
At approximately 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, Hull Police responded to a report of an alarm at a business on Nantasket Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers observed two store fronts that had smashed windows. The officers located and followed a trail of blood drops that continued down the sidewalk on Nantasket Avenue toward other businesses.
Officers discovered several other businesses and vehicles that had broken windows along Nantasket Avenue, including a post office, a bank and a bakery.
A short time later, police received a call about a vehicle that was damaged on Touraine Avenue. A SUV parked in a driveway of a home had one of its side mirrors broken off.
As officers searched the area, two more vehicles were found vandalized on Touraine Street. Another vehicle had a side mirror broken off on Newport Road.
In total, there were 12 acts of vandalism with an estimated $5,000 worth of damage. Five storefront windows and doors were broken along with damage done to seven motor vehicles.
Blood on the broken glass was collected from the scene and detectives are reviewing video footage from the area. No items were stolen from the victims.
Anyone who is able to identify the suspect or believes they may be a victim is asked to call the Hull Police at 781-925-1214.
