Public Encouraged to Vote For PCO in Resilience Award, Innovation in Harm Reduction Award Categories
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth County Outreach is pleased to share that it has been nominated for multiple awards by a national coalition, and are asking the public for their support in the ongoing voting process.
Last week Plymouth County Outreach learned that it had been nominated for two awards as part of the National Harm Reduction Coalition’s 2021 Community Choice Awards.
PCO received nominations in the following two categories:
- Resilience Award: This award honors organizations that have demonstrated their ability to quickly adapt and respond to their community in the face of the global pandemic and the economic hardship that it has caused.
- Innovation in Harm Reduction Award: This award honors individuals who pioneer creative and nontraditional approaches to dismantle the systems, fight toward equitable policies and promote harm reduction.
Voting is now open for those wishing to support PCO in these two categories. To vote, click here.
“These nominations alone are such a huge accomplishment and speak volumes about how far we’ve come over the last several years,” PCO Program Director Vicky Butler said. “I am so grateful for the partnerships between law enforcement, medical professionals, the recovery community, the many agencies/facilities we partner with throughout the county and the Bureau of Justice Assistance for continuing to provide us with COSSAP Grant monies to fund all of this great work.”
Other categories as part of the awards include the Mutual Aid Award, the Changing the Narrative Award, and the Harm Reduction Badass Award.
The 2021 Community Choice Awards are a part of the National Harm Reduction Coalition’s inaugural fundraising gala — Liberation + Libations — which will take place on Nov. 20. The all-virtual event will support the national work of preventing overdoses and will include a virtual auction, community performances and more.
Voting for National Harm Reduction Coalition’s 2021 Community Choice Awards will be open until Wednesday, Nov. 10.
